The department is committed to producing globally competent electrical engineers through Quality technical education and practical exposure. The department is equipped with modern and well-maintained laboratories, including
- The Basic Electrical Engineering Laboratory
- Electrical Machines Laboratory
- Switchgear and Protection Laboratory
- Network Analysis Laboratory
- Control Systems Laboratory, and Project Laboratory.
These laboratories are regularly upgraded with advanced equipment and software to meet curriculum requirements, support research activities, and keep pace with emerging technologies and industry standards, thereby enabling students to acquire strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
The department has consistently achieved excellent academic results, with students securing University Merit Ranks and outstanding performances in university examinations. The department has a commendable placement record, with graduates being recruited by reputed industries, power utilities, manufacturing organizations, renewable energy companies, and multinational corporations. Many alumni have also pursued higher education at prestigious institutions and secured positions in government organizations and public sector undertakings.
The department actively promotes innovation, entrepreneurship, and skill development. Several alumni have successfully established their own businesses in the fields of electrical contracting, solar energy systems, industrial automation, consultancy, and electrical services. To support students aspiring for higher education and competitive examinations, the department regularly conducts GATE coaching classes, expert lectures, workshops, and industry-oriented training programs.
The department emphasizes experiential learning through mini-projects, major projects, internships, and research activities. Students are encouraged to develop innovative solutions to real-world engineering challenges in areas such as power systems, renewable energy, electric vehicles, automation, and smart technologies.
The department also takes pride in the outstanding achievements of its students in sports and extracurricular activities. Students have represented the institute, university, and nation in Wrestling and Martial Arts competitions at National and International levels, bringing laurels to the department through their exceptional performances.
